GCT Semiconductor Powers NEC Platforms
4G Mobile Router for UQ Communications

San Jose, CA November 25, 2014 GCT® Semiconductor, a leading designer and supplier of advanced 4G mobile semiconductor solutions, today announced that its advanced LTE chip GDM7243M powers the new 4G LTE mobile router developed by NEC Platforms (NECPF) and recently launched by UQ Communications (UQ) in Japan. The mobile router is optimized for use on UQ’s WiMAX2+ network, which is based on TDD-LTE technology. GCT’s multi-mode chip GDM7243M supports Category 4 FDD/TDD-LTE and was fully certified by KDDI in July 2014. GDM7243M offers lower power consumption and BOM compared to a multi-chip solution.
