GCT Semiconductor Announces World's First 4X4 MIMO
LTE-Advanced Solution Powers NEC Platforms 4G Mobile Router in Japan

San Jose, CA February 23, 2015 GCT® Semiconductor, a leading designer and supplier of advanced 4G mobile semiconductor solutions, today announced that its 4G LTE-Advanced chip, GDM7243Q, powers the new 4G LTE mobile router developed by NEC Platforms (NECPF), and announced by UQ Communications (UQ) in Japan earlier this year. UQ plans to launch this ultra high speed mobile router early March 2015.

GCT’s FDD-TDD-LTE Advanced chip features advanced performance multi-antenna technology, 4x4 MIMO, that improves LTE coverage, peak throughput and spectral efficiency. GDM7243Q delivers Cat 5/6/7 throughputs with speeds up to 300 Mbps, and supports Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and eMBMS (LTE broadcast) as well as other advanced features.
