GCT Semiconductor Announces Executive Appointments

January 28, 2003 - San Jose, CA--GCT Semiconductor, Inc., a leading provider of radio frequency (RF) integrated circuits for wireless devices, today announced two executive appointments.

Mr. Alex Sum has been appointed as Sr. Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. Mr. Sum's responsibilities include setting corporate business objectives and directing the product definition, market research, product positioning and promotional efforts for GCT's direct conversion based products. Mr. Sum has various experiences in start-up, growth and mature businesses- prior to GCT, Mr. Sum was a Product Marketing Manager at Philips Semiconductor with the global responsibility for managing the successful launch of sigma delta synthesizers as well as Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) RF products. Before joining Philips, Mr. Sum served as a Product and Test Engineering Manager at Supertex and at Fairchild Semiconductor.

Mr. Fred Lancia has also joined the GCT sales and applications team as Sr. Vice President of Sales. He will be responsible for building customer relationships, achieving design wins, and growing sales revenue. Mr. Lancia has held served in Vice President of Sales capacities with optical component suppliers Alvesta and SpectraSwitch. Prior, he was Vice President of Marketing for Metalink, a supplier of xDSL chipsets. Mr. Lancia has also served as Director of Sales, Asia Pacific, for Level One Communications, an Intel company and held management positions at Lattice Semiconductor and Fujitsu Microelectronics.
