GCT Semiconductor selects Bob Hoard to lead U.S. sales
Twenty-five-year semiconductor veteran to deliver GCT's solutions to emerging wireless and multi-media markets
San Jose, CA - June 27, 2001 - GCT Semiconductor, Inc. (GCT), a leading supplier of integrated CMOS solutions for the wireless communication industry, today announced the appointment of Bob Hoard as vice president of sales operations for its U.S. region. Hoard brings thirty years of sales expertise to GCT with a seasoned knowledge of the semiconductor industry.
Hoard will be responsible for the planning and organization of GCT's sales operations for the US region. With his depth of experience and proven success in hi-tech sales, Hoard will also be supporting business development activities and marketing strategies for GCT in coordination with the company's business development team.

Hoard comes to GCT from his previous post as vice president of sales at Waferscale Integration, Inc., which was acquired by STMicroelectronics in September of 2000. Prior to that Hoard held a variety of positions with such notable companies as Oki Semiconductor, Philips/Signetics Corporation, and Ampex Corporation. Hoard holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and a MBA from University of Santa Clara.
The design and manufacturing advances developed at GCT allow the company to demonstrate direct conversion RF on standard CMOS-paving the way for new cost-effective transmitter/receiver chipsets for WCDMA as well as highly integrated CMOS PLL circuits with on-chip VCO for CDMA and GSM wireless standards.
